Hey- Tropical Storm Andrea- you’re the worst. Please let me complain for a moment here, everyone. So the weather is absolutely gorgeous all week when I’m stuck at work and then on my day off it rains all day? Nice. Real nice. Mother nature- you’re just so cruel sometimes.

I don’t know if it’s a coincidence that I’m having a bad day and its rainy outside or if the two go hand in hand. Either way- I am having a lame day. My stomach isn’t happy with me for whatever reason (what else is new) and on top of that- I’m just having one of those days where you feel cranky and blah. And I’m pretty homesick.

Which is why, I have to admit, I am writing to you live from my bathtub. You read that correctly. And no- I’m not posting any pictures you freaks. This might just be the sexiest blog post I’ve ever written… also the most dangerous. One false move and my computer is a goner. With my technology luck, I probably shouldn’t have my computer anywhere near any sort of threat but I’m living on the edge.

Hopefully chilling out in here for a while with my Sheryl Crow pandora will help break my funk. And if not, well, homemade pizza is on the menu for dinner and the Bruins/Penguins game four is on at eight- so there’s that.

Oh- and this little dessert I made earlier for Will and I to have post-pizza. I got the idea from Tina and shared it with you all the other day as something I wanted to try stat. Cream cheese stuffed strawberries? I’m in.

But I upped the ante and made them better. Hey- you gotta take these measures when you’re having a bad day. I stuffed the strawberries with cinnamon cream cheese and then rolled the top part in coconut and pecan pieces. Oh and then I melted some chocolate and dipped the strawberries in that.

Hello, decadence. I can’t wait to have these later. If I wasn’t excited for pizza for dinner, I would skip over that meal and go straight to dessert. Lucky for me, dinner will be just as good as dessert thanks to some Trader Joes pizza dough, sausage, mushrooms, red onion, and garlic.

Going to Trader Joes was one of the best parts of this awful day. It was one of those times where like everything is fully stocked and they have everything you were looking to buy. It was perfect and quick and peaceful. There wasn’t a lot of people there so even the tiny aisles were like wide lanes (insert Seinfeld reference here). It was great. It’s the little things.

I also was inspired to buy a cantaloupe. Something I’ve never bought whole before. I’ve had it at home and with family and whatnot but I’ve never cut my own cantaloupe from start to finish.

I guess I never have bought one despite the fact that they’re pretty cheap because I always thought they’d be hard to cut. Nope. They’re super soft and easy to cut up- and I have pretty dull knifes. I thought the outer part was like a shell when really it’s more like a skin. The more you know… And one cantaloupe produces a lotta fruit! What a steal!

In other news- my foot is doing a-ok! Spin was fine last night and bootcamp this morning was normal. I think my 5k tomorrow morning will be a go- wahoo! I’m hoping to get some good sleep tonight (did you hear that, Bruins? none of this double over time stuff) and wake up to a better day tomorrow. Between the 5k with friends, 90s yoga with Sara (yes, you read that correctly), the Capital Pride Parade, and potentially seeing THIRD EYE BLIND at a festival in Virginia- I have high hopes for the rest of the weekend.

In Russia news- I started making flashcards for some key words that might help me out while I’m over there. I took a year of the language when I was a freshman in college (2008-2009) so I’m a little rusty. BUT surprisingly- I remember A LOT. I think because its such an intensive language that when I learned it- it sort of burnt into my brain.

Breakfast (if you were curious). One of the most important things in my life he he.

Also… I’m starting to think it’s not a coincidence that Putin divorced his wife just as I’m about to head over there. Heyyyy, Vlad ;)

Enjoy your weekends everyone- even all my east coasters who are dealing with all of the rain!

Keep it wicked healthy xoxo
